Pokemon Mystery Dungeon has a lot of nuances that take a while to get used to. You can evolve Pokemon late in the game, but I'm not sure how the grid system will work when Pokemon balloon in size. Also, when accuracy is lowered, instead the Pokemon becomes a whiffer. Weird.
