I believe that an abnormally fearful person encountering a situation in which that fear applies is prime fiction material. A man with mysophobia lives with a filthy roommate. Hilarious! A triskaidekaphobe lives on the 13th floor of an apartment building. Classic! Though it might make real people with those fears ferocious.
